Night Guards
Grinding or clenching can lead to damage of teeth and joints in your jaw and cause further damage over time. You may experience immediate symptoms, such as tender or sore facial muscles and aches in your head, ear, or teeth. A custom made night guard will help relieve the pain and pressure from grinding and clenching. We will take a mold of your teeth and create a custom night guard to fit over the teeth in one jaw in order to alleviate the pressure from grinding and clenching, thus allowing your jaw muscles to relax.
Sleep Apnea Treatments
Our dentists are able to treat moderate obstructive sleep apnea and snoring with oral appliances. This device fits into the mouth and positions the jaw slightly forward, which helps prevent the tongue and soft tissues from collapse in the back of the throat in order to keep your airways open. Although oral appliances are often used in conjunction with other sleep apnea treatments, such as surgery or C-PAP, they can sometimes be used alone. Dr. Lho has extensive training in treatment of obstructive sleep apnea without a C-PAP.
Sports Guards
A sports guard may be needed if you participate in a sport where your mouth could be hit. A sports guard serves to not only protect your teeth during physical activity, but also protects your jaw, tongue, lips, and cheek lining.
